BIO
Pat Tierney is an Australian singer-songwriter and lap slide guitarist whose music blends folk, blues, and roots influences with thoughtful storytelling and distinctive musicianship. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Bob Dylan, Ben Harper, and J. J. Cale, Tierney has developed a sound that is grounded in deeply authentic songwriting and shaped by the expressive voice of his lap slide guitar.
His songs explore themes of love, loss, hope, and social justice, combining personal experiences with observations of the world around him. His slide guitar playing remains a defining feature of his music, weaving melodic lines and rhythmic textures through songs that are both reflective and thought-provoking.
Since releasing his debut album in 2015, Tierney has steadily built a strong following through extensive touring across Australia, as well as performances in New Zealand and the United States. He has appeared at respected festivals including Queenscliff Music Festival, Blues at Bridgetown, Blues on Broadbeach, and Nannup Music Festival, and has shared stages with artists including John Butler, The Beautiful Girls, Harry Manx and Bobby Alu.
Across three albums — Wild World Blues, Red Moon, and Lost in the Haze — Tierney has continued to refine his craft as both a songwriter and performer. His music has received national radio airplay, accumulated more than 3 million streams worldwide, and earned nominations at the Queensland Music Awards in 2016, 2023, 2024, and 2025, and Sunshine Coast Music Awards in 2025 and 2026.
With an ever-growing following and more albums on the horizon, Pat Tierney continues to establish a distinctive voice within Australia’s music scene and beyond.
